How do you answer these questions? How is Germany? Is it possible to even answer, to even try to begin to describe feelings? How can I describe what I see, what I experience?Words fail me.How can you expect me to describe the way the fog rolls over the river, slowly, like a blanket covering the thin line of darkness that snakes its way through the town?Or the cold, clean, crisp air of fall on a sunny day after a week of rain and clouds?I cannot make you understand how I feel when I realize that I am in another country on the other side of the world, where it is so different from anything you’ve ever known.I cannot explain the antiquity of the old towns and buildings, the majestic silence of the churches combined with the hustle and bustle of everyday life and people living in a modern world. These feelings cannot be captured with mere words or pictures.
So how is germany?

ok, so it's definitely been a while since ive done this. a long long loooonng while. hhmmm whats new? well to begin, i have been living in the music building. literally. i should just move in. basically i get there at about 9 in the morning and dont leave until... 430? gross. then i go back later and practice some more. well, aside from that, yeah i havent done too much. i can officially slackline across the pool in crestview and i ran a 5k in 23-24 min. on the other hand, yesterday was st. patricks day and guess who was festive?? thats right, i wore my irish sheep socks from molly. and i wore a green shirt. and i got smacked on the side of the head for pinching someone. so yes, quite the eventful day.
here is how i look 7 hours after i had my wisdom teeth removed.
as you can see, christopher matsuoka, i did not get super fat like my brother. in fact i think i did pretty good in the not swellingness. but then again it could still swell up i guess who knows. anyways, it doesnt hurt too much yet, i havent taken any pain killers since this afternoon so i think im doing ok. and i love that i have been taking so many naps today. its pretty fantastic. and here is an asian picture:
you know how people tell you not to make decisions when your judgment is/could be impaired in any way? well im pretty sure going to donut man at 1 in the morning should fall under that category.
note to self: eating three donuts at 1:30am just makes you feel disgusting- especially after you wake up. it also leads to some, uh, interesting conversations that lead to milk spewing out of your mouth and/or nose.
ok, so lately it has become a new thing/hobby/whatever to send letters. i think it is so so soooo fun to do. and as much as i like doing that, i also love to receive letters. so anyways, every monday, wednesday, and friday, i stop by the post office to drop off mail and/or check my mailbox... usually both. when i do this, mandy generally comes with me, but doesnt check her mailbox because, she claims, she doesnt get any mail. well being the awesome roommate i am, i decide it would be great fun to send her something ridiculously bulky and huge so that she has to carry it to all her classes. being the great roommates ashley and laura are, they suggest stealing her clothes and shoes and throwing them into a big box to send her. well, being out numbered 2-1 i decide to go with the prank. while mandy was at work, the three of us went to work stealing her stuff.
we finished it up, hid the box in the storage closet on our porch, and i took it to the post office this morning to send it via intracampus mail. so the moral of this story? well, let's just say you should check your mail more often.
I turn to leave, pure joy and deliciousness in my hands. “hey! How are you doing?” I look back. A smiling face. A familiar face. Yet completely unknown. A million questions. Who is this person? How does she know me? What do I say? Do I ask who she is? How I know her? “Hey! Im good how are you?” What am I doing? Why am I talking? I glance around nervously, trying to hint that I need to leave, but to no avail. “Oh, I am good. Getting a late night snack and off to bed?” why is she still talking to me? Can she tell that I have no clue who she is? Do I look ridiculous? I must look ridiculous. WHO IS THIS PERSON?? “haha, yeah, I know, it’s pretty bad.” Oh please let me go. Please please please pleeaaaase… I need to escape. How do I get out of this? I look around, hoping to make eye contact with my comrade to receive some kind of help, anything to escape this awful situation. “well have a good night then.” Hallelujah! What relief! (nervous chuckle)”yeah you too!” I turn to finally leave. Walking briskly I make my escape.
so this week i was just living life when my birthday struck. i must say that hitting the third decade of your life just makes you feel old. i cant really describe it, but i feel like im sposed to be super mature now or something. hmm it might take a little longer. ok so i decided that since it is super hot down here a fantastic birthday present would be snow. so i told God that for my birthday i would really appreciate some. well unfortunately for me it didnt end up snowing, but it was a lot cooler than the rest of the days. and looking back two days ago, it was a pretty good day. i was still super happy and even my classes went well. at night we just chilled in the apartment with cake and played half a game of quelf. it was great fun. and in regards to the snow- im pretty sure that if it did happen to snow some crazy environmentalist person would freak out and there would be this huge thing about how it was snowing in the middle of summer. actually i think it would be pretty hilarious, but oh well, God has his reasons right?
ok, so catching up. the last part of costa rica was in arenal.
on the way to go ziplining.
in the tram with all our stuff on.
the view from the zipline.
we went on a tour through the rainforest and got to see a bunch of things, including this horrible bug. the loudest most annoying thing in the world.
can you see the moth?
the arenal volcano... the dust is actually lava rolling down. its solid lava and it only looks red when its dark out. the viper
then we went to the hot springs
and the volcano rice... which was delicious.
so the that ends the costa rica trip.
two weeks later, it was janelles wedding in san francisco. it was beautiful and a little different from the previous wedding. just a little different tho...
nick and janelle
and the rest of us cousins
me and the sister.
oh and the highlight of the night, blake (12yrs old) was shoved onto the dance floor by nicks rather intoxicated uncle. he ended up learning how to salsa with this lady. lets just say the whole family was watching and laughing at him. poor blakey!
ok, so this is a little late. the wedding was super fun! it was sposed to start at 3:00pm, however that didnt really happen. first, the tables werent set up. so of course we had the lovely privilege of setting those up. we actually finished decorating at around 3.
the bride, bridesmaids, and groomsmen began to get ready. by 3:45-4 ish they were all ready... except the groom, who was running around in shorts and flipflops. his shirt ended up at his house so he ended up getting it around 4.
while he was waiting we took pictures of the bride. jen actually designed both her dress and the bridesmaids dresses.
